What to do with dinnerware…on table or on seperate table?
Okay, so I know this sounds silly but I really do not know what the proper or preferred way to do this is. Our wedding is small. 50 guests total including the wedding party. Our reception is a dinner reception and we chose a buffet so that there would be three dinner entree choices as well as multiple side dishes and a couple different salads. What I am curious about is with such a small wedding, do we put the dinner and salad plates on the table or do we stack them next to the buffet? I know in restaurants they have them stacked next to the food, but I have seen weddings where the plates are left on the table. We are planning on having the silverware and glasses put at each place setting on the table, no matter how we have the plates. What is the preferred way to do this with the plates. Thanks for any help.
I’d put the plates by the food. It will make it easier on your guests if they don’t have to worry about carrying an empty plate.
I agree completely with having the silverware and drinks already on the table.
